I left my heart in San Francisco

The loveliness of Paris seems somehow sadly gay

The glory that was Rome is of another day

I’ve been terribly alone and forgotten in Manhattan

I’m going home to my city by the Bay

Chocolate-Dipped Raspberry Coconut Macaroon

San Francisco ushered forth another lovely mild Sunday afternoon, fit perfectly for Goldilocks; not too hot, not too cold, just right. We spent our afternoon in the Presidio enjoying delicious food, lovely people and fantastic sights. We introduced a delicious new product with our coconut macaroons, made with fresh raspberries from our garden and a wonderful organic dark chocolate. They were met with watering mouths, hungry eyes and eventually satisfied bellies; we couldn’t be happier. We’ll be continuing these as well as our delectable spiced raspberry pumpkin bread through the holiday season. Thanks for all of your support.

My love waits there in San Francisco

Above the blue and windy sea

When I come home to you, San Francisco

Your golden sun will shine for me

There’s a year-rounder afoot!

Great news, everyone! Thanks to the efforts of our tireless market managers and the supportive community we call home the Fort Bragg Certified Farmers’ Market has been approved by the city council to transition into a year-round market, and we couldn’t be happier! Our coastal communities will now have a weekly staple market to provide fresh, organic produce and a plethora of delicious local goods. The market will move indoors to the recreation gym at 213 Laurel St. just around the corner from City Hall as of November 5th.

Lovin' Mama Farm Black Radishes

We’re also well into the lovely month of October and there are pumpkins everywhere! We had another fantastic market yesterday in Fort Bragg, selling our goods, gathering up delicious produce, including a bundle of fantastically spicy black radishes from Matt of ‘Lovin’ Mama Farm’ and, of course, perusing the pumpkin patch! We are so appreciative of your support. Thank you all!

Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain

Sunny, you smiled at me and really eased the pain

Now the dark days are gone and the bright days are here

And my sunny side shines

There were angels soaring overhead, the sky up above was blue and it was a marvelous day for a picnic. We spent another sunny Sunday afternoon in San Francisco at Off The Grid: Picnic at the Presidio, surrounded by delicious food, lovely people and a show of soaring jets flying to and fro across the Bay. We introduced our new ‘Spiced Raspberry Pumpkin Bread’ and enjoyed another lovely market in the Bay. Thanks for all of your support!

To Autumn

Pumpkin Patch

Hushed Autumnal morning mild.

The hours crept by slow.

Impede the sun with gentle mist.

Your fruit harvested or else lost.

From our friend’s field of pumpkins into the bakery, we surrounded ourselves with whisks, flour, measuring cups and more. Autumn is upon us, as is her bounty, and we intend to use these fruits to the best of our abilities. To kick off the season, we’ve oven-roasted our pumpkins, the seeds within, and baked a spiced pumpkin bread, bringing you a lovely piece of fall in every bite.

A lovely day in the bakery and a lovely day in the community at the Fort Bragg Farmers’ Market. Thanks for all of your support.

O Autumn, laden with fruit, and stain’d

With the blood of the grape, pass not, but sit
Beneath my shady roof; there thou may’st rest,
And tune thy jolly voice to my fresh pipe,
And all the daughters of the year shall dance!
Sing now the lusty song of fruits and flowers.

“The narrow bud opens her beauties to
The sun, and love runs in her thrilling veins;
Blossoms hang round the brows of Morning, and
Flourish down the bright cheek of modest Eve,
Till clust’ring Summer breaks forth into singing,
And feather’d clouds strew flowers round her head.

“The spirits of the air live in the smells
Of fruit; and Joy, with pinions light, roves round
The gardens, or sits singing in the trees.”
Thus sang the jolly Autumn as he sat,
Then rose, girded himself, and o’er the bleak
Hills fled from our sight; but left his golden load.

Easy like Sunday morning

GG Bridge 2
It was another beautiful day in the neighborhood, and the city was alive with the sound of music. We spent another lovely Sunday afternoon at Off the Grid: Picnic at the Presidio with all of your favorite goodies while listening to the sounds of fiddles and banjos spilling forth from the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park. A fine day, indeed.
