New Year’s Eve

For last year’s words belong to last year’s language, and next year’s words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning.

Let us believe in a long year that is given to us, new, untouched, full of things that have never been, full of work that has never been done, full of tasks, claims, demands and mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something.

So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make new mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.

Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, do it.

Make your mistakes, next year and forever.

Spring – the first kiss of summer!

Spring has sprung; the grass is riz; I wonder where the birdies is.

Lemon Poppy Bird

Nothing is so beautiful as Spring – When weeds, in wheels, shoot long and lovely and lush; the glassy pear tree leaves and blooms, they brush the descending blue; that blue is all in a rush with richness; the racing lambs too have fair their fling. The bounty of the season is in our gardens, at our markets and on our doorsteps.

As a luscious spring unfurls before us, we have, once again, joined the wonderful community gathering that is the Fort Bragg Farmer’s Market. Join us outside on the 400 Block of North Franklin Street every Wednesday afternoon from 3-6PM. In addition to joining the farmer’s market circuit here on the north coast, we will continue supplying our local markets, cafés, and delis with our tasty treats, both savory and sweet.

As time goes by and our presence expands, it’s you we have to thank. We’re so grateful for the show of support both in and outside of our rural abode here on the coast. Every day we’re afforded the privilege of interacting with our community, conscientiously growing and sourcing  amazing ingredients, and transforming said ingredients into tasty treats is a reminder of how fortunate we are to have such independence.

The Heart Grows Fonder

Another year has come and gone and it’s become abundantly clear that change is inevitable and transitions are to be embraced. As a luscious spring unfurled before us, we temporarily excused ourselves from the farmer’s market circuit here on the north coast to focus our efforts on supplying our local markets, cafés, and delis with our tasty treats, both savory and sweet.

Once we ensured that shelves were brimming with our delectable goods, we bid adieu to the absence from our local farmer’s market and swiftly dove back into the wonderful community gathering at the Fort Bragg Certified Farmer’s Market. In addition to serving the wonderful folks of the north coast at this market, we’ve been afforded the privilege of catering various local events, from First Friday festivities to Winesong and a plethora of celebrations in between.

2015 is off to an exciting and wonderful start and we see only progress and further fun ahead. Life is in bloom and a new season of markets is upon us. Off the Grid: Picnic at the Presidio, a lovely San Francisco market held every Sunday from 11:00-4:00 on the Main Parade Ground Lawn in the Presidio, has officially returned, and we couldn’t be happier. If you find yourself in the Bay Area and are in need of a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon, look no further than this fantastic gathering. Come out to say hello, enjoy a bounty of Bay Area food, and enjoy the surroundings of the Presidio and the Golden Gate.

We’ve been fortunate to have a hearty handful of lovely people stop by to enjoy our goods this season, and we’d like to thank everyone who has made it out so far. We couldn’t be happier with the turnout and it’s thanks to all of you picnic goers and market attenders that these amazing community events not only exist, but thrive. Thank you so much! We look forward to seeing new and returning customers alike in the future!

I left my heart in San Francisco

The loveliness of Paris seems somehow sadly gay

The glory that was Rome is of another day

I’ve been terribly alone and forgotten in Manhattan

I’m going home to my city by the Bay

Chocolate-Dipped Raspberry Coconut Macaroon

San Francisco ushered forth another lovely mild Sunday afternoon, fit perfectly for Goldilocks; not too hot, not too cold, just right. We spent our afternoon in the Presidio enjoying delicious food, lovely people and fantastic sights. We introduced a delicious new product with our coconut macaroons, made with fresh raspberries from our garden and a wonderful organic dark chocolate. They were met with watering mouths, hungry eyes and eventually satisfied bellies; we couldn’t be happier. We’ll be continuing these as well as our delectable spiced raspberry pumpkin bread through the holiday season. Thanks for all of your support.

My love waits there in San Francisco

Above the blue and windy sea

When I come home to you, San Francisco

Your golden sun will shine for me

Picnicking with the angels.

Angels Return

Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain

Sunny, you smiled at me and really eased the pain

Now the dark days are gone and the bright days are here

And my sunny side shines

There were angels soaring overhead, the sky up above was blue and it was a marvelous day for a picnic. We spent another sunny Sunday afternoon in San Francisco at Off The Grid: Picnic at the Presidio, surrounded by delicious food, lovely people and a show of soaring jets flying to and fro across the Bay. We introduced our new ‘Spiced Raspberry Pumpkin Bread’ and enjoyed another lovely market in the Bay. Thanks for all of your support!
